Regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO)


The system is used to clean the exhaust air from solvents and other pollutants (ex. CO) through thermal oxidation; it is also possible to recover the exceeding heat coming from the combustion of the pollutants.

The system usually has 3 or 5 towers, containing a ceramic matrix which depending from the direction of the air flow, absorbs the heat from the waste gas after the combustion or preheats the air before the combustion. The average cycle time is from 60 to 90 seconds depending on the nature and concentration of the individual contaminants.

 

Typical applications: Solvent processing industry suitable for high or low solvent concentration.
